Kleiner Funds Healthcare Systems Firm
Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers is the lead investor in a developer of real time, location systems for the healthcare market. In an unusual move for Kleiner, the firm was a new investor in a Series F funding round for Awarepoint, who systems are used to track assets and patients in hospitals. Other investors included TopTier Capital Partners, Cardinal Partners, Venrock, and Jafco Ventures. Awarepoint said the new funding will go towards funding growth at the company.
