Blue Coat Sold To Thoma Bravo
Sunnyvale-based Blue Coat Systems, the publicly held provider of WAN optimization and web security products, has been acquired by private equity firm Thoma Bravo. The firm said the transaction is valued at approximately $1.3 billion. Thoma Bravo is paying $25.81 per share for Blue Coat as part of the agreement. Thoma Bravo's investor group also includes the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.
