SurveyMonkey, the developer of web surveying software headed by Dave Goldberg, said today that it is acquiring partner
MarketTools, the owner of Zoomerang, ZoomPanel, and TrueSample. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. SurveyMonkey is acquiring MarketTools through a transaction with private equity firm TPG Capital, which is acquiring MarketTools and moving the businesses to SurveyMonkey, in exchange for a minority stake in SurveyMonkey. Exact terms of that transfer were not disclosed. MarketTools was based in San Francisco, and was headed by Scott Arnold.
