PandoDaily, a new technology news site run by the former writers of TechCrunch, said Monday that it has raised $2.5M in a funding round. The firm is headed by Sarah Lacy, and includes contributors Michael Arrington, MG Siegler, Paul Carr and Farhad Manjoo. The funding came from Marc Andreessen, Peter Thiel, Tony Hsieh, Zach Nelson, Andrew Anker, Chris Dixon, Saul Klein, Josh Kopelman, Jeff Jordan, Matt Cohler, CrunchFund, Greylock Discovery Fund, Accel’s Seed Fund, Menlo Ventures Talent Fund, Lerer Ventures, SV Angels and Ooga Labs. PandoDaily is direct competition to TechCrunch.
