Joyent, which develops cloud computing software, announced today that it has closed an $85M investment round. The round was led by European investment group Weather Investment II, which it says provided the majority of the round. Telefonica also participated as a strategic investors. Joyent's other investors are El Dorado Ventures, Epic Ventures, Greycroft Partners, Intel Capital, and Liberty Global. According to Joyent, the capital will go to support provisioning of its global cloud services to enterprises and service providers. Weather II was advised by Accelero Capital in the deal.
