Xero, a developer of online small business accounting software, said Friday that it has raised $16.6M, and set up shop in San Francisco. The firm said the funding came from Peter Thiel, via his NEw Zealand fund, Valar Ventures. Xero said it appointed Jamie Sutherland as President of its U.S. operations, which are based in San Francisco.
