Trident Microsystems, the bankrupt developer of set-top box semiconductors, has been sold to connected home semiconductor maker
Entropic Communications, Entropic said Monday. Entropic said it will pay $65M for the assets of Trident's set-top-box (STB) business, in a deal which is subject to approval from the United States Bankruptcy court for the District of Delaware. Entropic said it will make offers of employment to approximately 375 Trident employees worldwide as part of the acquisition. Trident filed for Chapter 11 in January.
