Micrel Buys PhaseLink
San Jose-based Micrel, a supplier of analog communications chips and Ethernet ICs, said yesterday that it has acquired PhaseLink, a developer of clock and timing chips. PhaseLink is based in Taiwan, with operations in Silicon Valley. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Micrel said it will use the acquisition to complement its existing, high performance clock generation and distribution products for the communication market.
