San Francisco-based
Wantful, a startup developing a service to deliver custom, curated gifts to gift recipients, has raised $5.5M in a funding round, the firm said today. The round was led by
Polaris Venture Partners, and also included prior investors
Harrison Metal,
Greylock Partners, and
Forerunner Ventures. Wantful's service allows users to give information about a gift recipient, who then receives a special, printed book of choices, which the recipient can then choose and get delivered to them. Ryan Spoon of Polaris joins the company's board with the funding. Wantful is headed by John Poisson, who was previously VP of Mobile and Social Media at
Shutterfly, and prior to that was founder and CEO of
Tiny Pictures.
