A number of executives from San Francisco-based cloud hosting firm
Joyent have backed a startup developing social games for Facebook. According to
Mob Science, the social gaming firm behind inFamous Anarchy, Coffee Bar, Snowball Fight, and Willy's Sweet Shop, it raised $1M in a seed funding round. The round included Joyent CEO David Young, Joyent CTO and co-founder Jason Hoffman, Brian Brown, EVP of Corporate Development of Joyent, and Steve Tuck, General Manager of Joyent Cloud. GameSpy/IGN founder Mark Surfas also was a major investor. Young joins the company's board as par tof the funding. Mob Science is based in San Diego, California.
