San Mateo-based
AlienVault, a developer of security management tools, said this morning that it has raised $22.4M in a Series C funding round. The round was led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Sigma, and also included prior investors Trident Capital and Adara Venture Partners. AlienVault, which is headed by Barmak Meftah, said the funding will go towards sales, marketing, support, and research and development. Ted Schlein of KPCB joins the firm's board with the funding, with Sigma's Bob Spinner joining the board as an observer.
