Synopsys Buys SpringSoft
Mountain View-based Synopsys, the developer of electronic design automation software tools, said today that it has acquired SpringSoft, a Taiwanese developer of specialized IC design software. Synopsys said it will pay approximately $406M for SpringSoft, which is publicly traded in Taiwan. After accounting for cash on hand, Synopsys said the deal will be worth $305M. Synopsys said the buy will help add advanced capabilities to its design and verification software.
