New Venture Fund Targets The Dorm Room
A new, venture capital fund--backed by the same folks behind First Round Capital--said today that they have launched a new fund specifically targeted at student entrepreneurs. First Round--which is very active in Silicon Valley--said the new fund is starting in Philadelphia, it home city, but is expected to expand into other markets. The new Dorm Room Fund will invest from $10,000 to $20,000 in student startups, with $500,000 committed to the effort. The fund is initially targeting startups out of Philadelphia-based universities.
