Venture Capital Dollars, Deals Down In Q3
The latest venture capital numbers from the PricewaterhouseCoopers/National Venture Capital Association MoneyTree report, based on data from Thomson Reuters, shows that venture capital activity declined both in dollars and deals in Q3. The report found that Vc activity declined 11 percent in dollars and five percent in terms of deals, compared to the second quarter of 2012, totaling $6.5 billion in 890 deals. The report found that the decline was most pronounced in seed and early stage companies; life sciences and clean tech investments also continued to suffer due to shifts in those two industries.
