Google Invests $200M In Texas Wind Farm
Mountain View-based Google said Wednesday that it has invested $200M in equity in a Texas wind power project, part of its efforts to fund alternative energy projects. Google said it invested in the Spinning Spur Wind Project, in Oldham County, near Amarill, a facility built by EDF Renewable Energy and providing 161 megawatts of power. The power from that project has been contracted to SPS, a utility that primarily serves Texas and New Mexico.
