Apple Buys WiFiSlam
WiFiSlam, which develops technology for indoor geolocation of smartphones, has been acquired by Apple. Financial details of the deal were not announced by Apple, however, the acquisition has been pegged at $20M by multiple sources. WiFiSlam's technology was being developed to let smartphones precisely pinpoint their locations indoors using Wi-Fi signals. WiFiSlam was venture backed by Don Dodge (Google), Sky Dayton (Boingo Wireless), and Relay Ventures.
