Spansion Buys Microcontroller, Analog Units From Fujitsu
Sunnyvale-based flash memory manufacturer
Spansion
announced today that it has acquired the microcontroller and analog business units of
Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited
. According to Spansion, it will pay approximately $110M, plus $65M for inventory, for the two units from Fujitsu. Spansion said the buy will provide it with incremental revenue, and access to people and intellectual property to help it expand its operations.
