Parakweet said this morning that it has raised $2M in a funding round. The round came from a number of angels, including Scott Banister (PayPal, Zappos, Powerset), Alan Braverman (Yammer, Eventbrite), and David Jeske (Google), among others. THe firm said it is developing natural language processing (NLP) software which detects and extracts meanings from unstructured social media, to accurately identify consumer behavior, intent and sentiment. The firm powers BookVibe, a book discovery engine, with that technology.
