Xamarin said this morning that it has raised $16M in a Series B round, for its application development tools. The funding came from Lead Edge Capital, Charles River Ventures, Ignition Partners, and Floodgate Fund. Xamarin develops software tools for cross platform development, allowing developers to create C# apps, which are ported to native apps that run across iOS, Android, Windows, OS X, and other platforms. Xamarin said the new funding will go towards expanding its roadmap, and to build a sales and marketing team.
