Milpitas-based electronics logistics and manufacturing firm Flextronics is getting into the accelerator business, saying this morning that it has launched its own, hardware- and software-focused accelerator called the Lab IX Accelerator. Flextronics said its accelerator will focus on providing support to early-stage game-changing, disruptive technology companies incorporating hardware and software innovation. Flextronics did not say if it would invest in equity in those companies, but did say it will offer up office and shop space, new product introduction services, design and advanced engineering support, and access to the company's manufacturing expertise and supply chain.
