SanDisk Completes SMART Storage Acquisition
Milpitas-based SanDisk Corporation announced yesterday that it has completed its acquisition of SMART Storage Systems, a developer of enterprise, solid state disk drives. SanDisk paid $307M in cash plus equity incentive awards for the company. SMART Storage Systems is based in Newark, California. As part of the deal, SanDisk said it will combine SMART Storage Sytsems with its Enterprise Storage Solutions, which is being led by John Scaramuzzo, SMART's former President.
