PayNearMe Pockets $20M More For Offline To Online Payments
San Francisco-based PayNearMe, which provides a service which allows people without checking accounts or credit cards to use cash to purchase debit cards which can be used for online services, has raised $20M in a Series E funding. The funding was led by GSV Capital and also included August Capital, Khosla Ventures, Maveron, and True Ventures. The company's services allow the unbanked to pay cash, in person at stores like 7-Eleven to refill online debit card accounts, so that they can use online services.
