Synopsys Buys Coverity For $350M
Mountain View-based semiconductor design software firm Synopsys said this week that it has acquired Coverity, the San Francisco-developer of software quality, testing, defect management, and other tools, in a deal worth $375M, or $350M net of cash acquired. Coverity's software is widely used for managing software quality by development teams. Coverity was venture backed by Benchmark Capital and Foundation Capital.
