Hortonworks Buys XA Secure
Palo Alto-based Hortonworks, which develops and supports the Apache Hadoop cluster software, said today that it has acquired XA Secure, a developer of data security tools. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Hortonworks said it will use the acquisition to accelerate delivery of Hadoop security tools to users. XA Secure provides a security layer built for Hadoop, and was founded in 2013, and was based in Fremont, California.
