Google Owned Motorola Mobility Shuts First U.S. Smartphone Factory
Google business unit Motorola Mobility said Friday that it is shutting down the company's first, U.S. smartphone factory in Fort Worth, Texas, and will shut doors at the plant by the end of the year. The move comes only a year after Motorola opened up the plant, which previously made Moto X smartphones. The plant had employed 700 workers. The plant had been hailed at opening as the first, U.S.-based smartphone factory.
