Telstra Buys Ooyala For $270M
Mountain View-based video streaming and analytics firm Ooyala is being acquired by Australian telecommunications firm Telstra, in a $270M deal. Telstra--which already owned 23 percent of Ooyala--said it will make Ooyala a subsidiary of Telstra, operating as an independent business and brand. Ooyala's other investors include CID Group, ITOCHU Corp., Motorola, Rembrandt Venture Partners, and Sierra Ventures.
