San Francisco-based
Planet Labs, which operates an extensive network of earth imaging satellites, said today that it has raised $95M in funding, split between a $70M Series C funding, and $25M in venture debt. The equity funding was led by Data Collective, along with Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Yuri Milner, Capricorn Investment Management, O'Reilly Alpha Tech Ventures (OATV), Data Collective, Founders Fund Angel, First Round Capital, and Innovation Endeavors. Data Collective's Zachary Bogue joins the company's board with the funding. The additional $25M in debt came from Western Technology Investment. Planet Labs says it has 73 earth imaging satellites in orbit.
