, which offers up cloud-based SMS and phone APIs, said this morning that it has acquired
Authy
, a provider of secure authentication apps. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Twilio said that Authy's authentication APIs were already built on its own SMS and phone APIs. Authy provided two factor authentication and phone verification, using a user's phone to authenticate log in to secure applications and websites.
