AltSchool Scores $100M For Alternative K-8 Education
San Francisco-based AltSchool, the operator of a network of schools in San Francisco focused on personalized K-8 learning and education, said this morning that it has raised $100M in a big funding round. The funding came from Founders Fund and Andreessen Horitz, along with Mark Zuckerberg and Prscilla Chan, along with Emerson Collective, First Round Capital, Learn Capital, John Doerr, Harrison Metal, Jonathan Sackler, Omidyar Network and Adrian Aoun. AltSchool said it also receive a new debt facility, to fund school expansion for the company. AltSchool is led by Max Ventilla, and says it is looking to "fundamentally reimagine education."
