Cisco announced this morning that it has acquired San Francisco-based
Piston Cloud Computing, a developer of an OpenStack-based, cloud orchestration product aimed at helping companies scale and manage their cloud infrastructure. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Piston Cloud COmputing will become part of Cisco's Intercloud Services. Piston Cloud was backed by True Ventures, Hummer Winblad, Swisscom Ventures, Data Collective, Divergent Ventures, as well as Cisco itself.
