Veritas On The Block For $7 Billion Plus

is being shopped around by parent company
Symantec
, at a pricetag of between $7 billion and $8 billion, according to
Bloomberg
. Accoording to the report, private equity investor Carlyle Group is nearing a deal with Symantec to acquire Veritas, which was acquired by Symantec back in 2005. At the time, Symantec paid around $13.8 billion for Veritas.
