Amplitude Analytics, which is developing mobile analytics software, said this week that it has raised $9M in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by Benchmark, and also included Quest Venture Partners, Data Collective, Merus Capital, Charlie Cheever, Dave Morin and angels. Amplitude--originally called Sonalight--develops analytics software which is used to analyze mobile apps. The company had originally been a voice recognition software developer, but found its internal mobile analytics tools were more useful than its original product concept. Amplitude is led by Spenser Skates.
