Hortonworks Buys Onyara
Santa Clara-based Hortonworks has acquired Onyara, the company behind the Apache NiFi open source project, the two said this morning. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Apache NiFi connects directly into Hadoop. Hortonworks said it would launch a new product, Hortonworks DataFlow powered by Apache NiFi, as a result of the acquisition. Hortonworks helps to develop and support Hadoop, by providing an enterprise distribution of the big data analysis tool.
