Prosper Marketplace Buys BillGuard
San Francisco-based
Proosper Marketplace
, the peer-to-peer online lending marketplace, said this morning that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire
BillGuard
, which develops personal finance apps that helps consumers manage their money and credit. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Prosper said the buy helps it access Israel's "extraordinary" engineering and product talent pool, and also help offer up tools to help its users make smarter financial decisions. BillGuard is led by Yaron Samid, and Prosper is led by Aaron Vermut. The companies said BillGuard was advised by FT Partners in the deal.
