San Francisco-based
Autodesk has launched a brand new, $100M investment fund, as part of an outreach to software developers. According to Autodesk--best known for its CAD software--said the new $100M investment fund is part of a three pronged effort that includes a new platform-as-a-service, a developer program, and the investment fund--which it is calling "Forge". The new effort includes new application programming interfaces (APIs), sofwtare develoment kits (SDK), developer support, and investments in companies developing solutions and services which connect to Autodesk's software.
