Yummly Buys Kitchen Gadget Maker The Orange Chef
Redwood City-based recipe discovery service Yummly has acquired San Francisco-based connected kitchen gadget maker The Orange Chef, according to the two companies. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. The Orange Chef was venture backed by Google Ventures, SparkLabs Global Ventures, Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments (BDMI), Kima Ventures, The Social+Capital Partnership, and Graph Ventures, and developed talking food scales and cutting boards to help users make recipes.
