SolarCity Raises $249M Solar Financing Fund
San Mateo-based SolarCity said Thursday that it has created a new, $249M tax equity fund to fund solar projects, from an undisclosed Fortune 100 partner. SolarCity said the fund is the fourth it has created with that undisclosed partner. SolarCity said it has the option to double the financing size of the fund to $498M. SolarCity said it now has 50 different project funds from 21 different financing partners, all of which are used in funding the equipment and installation of solar power systems for residential homeowners.
