Joyent, which provides managed infrastructure to the enterprise market, has been acquired by
Samsung, the two announced on Wednesday. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced by the companies. According to the two, Joyent CEO Scott Hammond, CTO Bryan Cantrill, and VP of Product, Bill Fine, will all join Samsung as part of the acquisition. Joyent's Cantrill said in a blog post that Samsung's interest in the company specifically came around its interest in its Manta object storage system, and in particular, scaling that system using Samsung's hardware.
