Omidyar Re-ups On DataKind
Redwood City-based investor Omidyar Network said on Thursday that it has made a $2M in investment in New York-based DataKind, a nonprofit in the data science and social sector area. Omidyar Network has been an investor in DataKind since 2014. Omidyar said that DataKind connects data science and social sector experts on such humanitarian problems as education, poverty, health, human rights, and the environment. Omidyar is the combined investment-and-philanthropy firm which was founded by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar.
