Benchling, a developer of life sciences R&D software, said Monday that it has raised $7M in a new funding round. The funding was led by Thrive Capital, and also included Andreessen Horowitz, Geoff Ralston (Y Combinator), Matt Huang (Sequoia), David Wallerstein (Tencent), and Ashton Kutcher. The company says it has now raised $13M in total. Benchling develops a cloud-based lab notebook software product, linked with molecular biology and other tools. The company is led by Sajith Wickramasekara.
