Brocade Communications Acquired By Broadcom For $5.9 Billion
San Jose-based Fibre Channel and storage area networking hardware maker
Brocade Communications Systems
has been acquired by
Broadcom Limited
, the two companies said today, in a deal worth $5.9 billion. Broadcom said it will pay $12.75 per share in cash for Brocade, and will also divest Brocades IP networking business, including Ruckus Wireless. Broadcom said the acquisition will strengthen its portfolio of enterprise storage and networking solutions serving OEM customers.
