Tessera Technologies Acquires Pelican Imaging
San Jose-based Tessera Technologies said late Tuesday that it has acquired the technology assets and substantial patent portfolio of Pelican Imaging Corporation, which develops depth-sensing multi-camera imaging technology aimed at the drone, automotive, and AR/VR industry. Pelican Imaging was based in Santa Clara. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Pelican Imaging develops technology which lets users manipulate images post-capture, by changing the focus of photos, focusing on multiple subjects, and also measuring the depth of objects in those images.
