William K. Bowes, Jr., the founder of Menlo Park-based venture capital investor
USVP, has passed away, according to the firm. USVP said Bowes passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, December 28th. Bowes founded USVP 40 years ago, in 1981. Bowes was 90 years old. Bowes founded USVP after spending nearly 25 years at investment banking firm Blyth & Co., where he was the lead underwriter for such firms as Hewlett-Packard and Raychem; he also was instrumental in founding Amgen, Applied Microcircuits and Applied Biosystems.
