Alaska Air To Kill Off Virgin America Brand
Alaska Air said on Wednesday that it is phasing out the Virgin America brand, less than a year after it acquired Virgin America. Virgin America had a particularly strong following in Silicon Valley, for its technology friendly service and hip image. Alaska Air said the transition is expected to be complete by sometime in 2019, according to the carrier. Alaska Air paid $2.6 billion for Virgin America in April of 2016.
