Waymo Ramps Up Self Driving Car Program In Arizona
Waymo
, the Google spinout which is taking Google's self driving car technology to market, said on Monday that it has started
accept applications to be part of its early rider program in Phoenix, Arizona
. Waymo says it has bumped the number of vehicles in its self driving vehicle test from a "handful" of vehicles to nearly 500 self-driving Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivans. The test allows riders to use Waymo for all of their trips--everyday, and any time--to bring self-driving cars to more communities sooner, according to Waymo.
