Cisco announced Thursday morning that it is acquiring San Francisco-based
MindMeld, a developer of artificial intelligence (AI) tools for building intelligent and human-like conversational interfaces for any application or device. Cisco said it will pay $125M in cash plus assumed equity awards for MindMeld. MindMeld (also known as Expect Labs), had raised at least $15.4M from such investors as IDG Ventures and a subsidiary of USAA, Intel Capital, Samsung Ventures, Telefonica Digital, Liberty Global Ventures, Fenox Ventures, Westcott LLC, and Quest Venture Partners, plus GV (Google Ventures), Greylock Partners, Bessemer Venture partners, and KPG Ventures
