Unity Finds $400M More
San Francisco-based game engine developer Unity Technologies, which develops the 3D game engines used for virtual reality and augmented reality, as well as other 3D software, has raised $400M in a funding round from Silver Lake Partners, the company said on Tuesday. The funding reportedly values the company at over $2.6 billion. The company last raised funding in July of 2016, from such investors as DFJ Growth, China Investment Corporation, FreeS Fund, Thrive Capital and Max Levchin, Sequoia Capital and WestSummit Capital. The new round reportedly gives a number of those earlier investors some liquidity.
