Insight Engines Finds $15.8M For Big Data Software
San Francisco-based Insight Engines, a developer of big data software which applies natural language processing (NLP) technology to help extract answers from machine data, has raised $15.8M in a Series A funding. The funding, announced on Thursday, was led by August Capital, and also included Splunk, Real Ventures, Data Collective plus Erik Swan and Simon Crosby. August Capital's David Hornick, along with Eric Swan, the former CTO of Splunk, have both joined the company's board along with the funding round.
