Santa Clara-based Chegg, which develops online study tools for students, said on Wednesday that it has acquired Cogeon GmbH, a German developer of adaptive math technology and math apps. Cogeon's flagship software is Math 42. Chegg said it will pay approximately $15.0M in cash for Cogeon. Chegg said the acquisition will help deepen its reach into the high school market. Chegg said it will use Cogeon's artificial intelligence-driven software to launch a new product, Chegg Math, in the second quarter.
