TIBCO Acquires Alpine Data
Palo Alto-based TIBCO Software announced this morning that it has acquired San Francisco-based Alpine Data, a developer of cloud-based data science and social collaboration tools. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced by the companies. TIBCO said the buy will help it bolster its data science technology and analytics portfolio. Alpine Data was venture backed by Mission Ventures, Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH, Sierra Ventures, Sumitomo, and UMC Capital, and had raised somewhere around $23.5M in funding.
